“They say pairs are made in heaven”, believe it or not, but there is someone sent for everyone, whichever part of the globe they belong to. Every human has their partner some meet their designated ones earlier & shape their relationships into love marriages others meet lately giving it the name of arranged marriages. Be it sooner or later, destiny always makes the lovebirds meet.

Marriages are considered to be so pure in our country. The Hindu religion signifies it as a pious omen and none of the rituals are ever missed, several priests are assigned so as to follow all the traditions. Different parts of India have it done differently; in some areas, marriages are performed during the day, whereas in some parts it is done during the night. When talking about marriages, how can we miss those big fat Indian Weddings?

Each one of us is always keen in knowing how do the famous celebrities marry? We keep wondering something or the other every time, no doubt, few opt for those awesome destination weddings and just to know a bit more about their weddings, I would like to list a few of our favorite celebrities marriages.

  • Rajnikanth-The interview of a Lifetime & Love at First Sight.

If there is a person in our country who can undeniably be referred as the epitome of ‘larger than life’ then it has to be the venerable superstar of Indian cinema, Shivaji Rao Gaekwad was known by his stage name – Rajnikanth.  It was during the filming of a movie that he received a request for an interview for a college magazine.  Little did the then 30-something Rajnikanth know that by the end of the interview he would be proposing to the 23-something Latha Rangachari, who was a student at the Ethiraj College for Women, Chennai or in a few years the Latha Rangachari Rajnikanth. Rajnikanth and Latha chose to have a traditional South Indian wedding at the famous Lord Balaji temple in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. Since the wedding was a traditional Tamil one, Latha wore a red bridal saree, while Rajnikanth was decked up in white silk dhoti and kurta.

  • Anant Naggarkatte: The man from Malgudi Days.

Generally known as Anant Nag, he is an actor from Karnataka. In addition to Kannada movies, he has acted in Marathi, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Hindi movies. He fell in love with actress Gayatri during the filming of Auto Raja in 1979. The couple got married on 9th April 1987 and gave birth to a daughter named Aditi. Since he belongs to Karnataka, it is believed that they had a proper Kannad marriage.

  • Jyothika Saravanan- shy, reserved and introvert.

She is an Indian actress who predominantly appears in Tamil films. She has also acted in some Kannada, Malayalam, Telugu and Hindi films, she is said to marry Saravanan Sivakumar (Surya). The venue for their marriage was the “Park Sheraton Hotel” in Chennai and the wedding ceremony started at 7 a.m. The couple chose a simple yet elegant attire for their wedding ceremony. Surya was dressed in white silk dhoti and silk shirt, while Jyothika was seen decked up in a pink silk saree with an exquisite diamond necklace and a gold armlet. Surya’s mother Lakshmi initiated the ceremonies by lighting the Kuthu Vilakku (the holy lamp). It was a traditional Tamil wedding ceremony with Surya tying the thaali (mangal sutra) to Jyothika. The who’s who of the Tamil film industry attended the wedding and the guest list included the leading state and central ministers as well.

  • Jeevitha & Rajsekhar

Jeevitha is an Indian actress concentrating on Tamil and Telugu languages of Indian film industry, she is said to be a complete package as her occupation includes an actor, director and a producer as well. She is believed to marry Dr. Rajasekhar, the marriage is well carried out till date and they are a happy, loving couple.
